The S.T.A.R. Multimodal Learning Framework

Delivering Quality Education To Every Learner

As an educational institution, SKDLC responds to the need to maintain its school functions in delivering quality education to every learner in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic. After reviewing and determining the current situation and its effect on the learning community, this school has outlined a flexible framework that goes along with its corresponding procedures and instructions. This plan will be adapted to mitigate the effect of the present crisis to our teaching-learning process and school operation as well.

STAGGERED SCHOOL DAYS

Staggered school days will reduce class sizes to perhaps as few as ten. This will allow students and teachers to stay at least one or two meters apart, as recommended by health experts. In this setting, our small class size or small student-teacher ratio will work to our advantage.

TEACHING SPACE AND e-RESOURCES

Google Classroom shall be utilized to simplify creating, distributing, and grading assignments. Its primary purpose is to streamline the process of sharing files between teachers and students. Teachers can monitor the progress for each student, and after being graded, teachers can return work along with comments.

Electronic resources can also be beneficial which consist of data representing numbers, text, graphics, images, maps, moving images, music, sounds, etc., and programs of instruction sets.

AGGREGATE BLENDED LEARNING

Blended learning is a combination of offline (face-to-face, in-person traditional learning) and online (virtual) teaching in a way that the one compliments the other. It provides individuals with the opportunity to enjoy the best of both worlds. A student will attend classes in a real-world classroom setting and then supplement the lesson plan by completing online multimedia coursework. A holistic curriculum that addresses all areas of development shall be maintained.

The student will only have to physically attend class on designated days and will be given advance homework assignment without worrying about physical distancing protocols. Primary classes will have three shifts of classes while the Intermediate levels will have two shifts.

This program offers a world of opportunity to complement the usual face-to-face classroom setup with something new, engaging and exciting online learning experience both at home and in School.

RUNNING SCHOOL OPERATIONS

To ensure proper physical distancing in School, the following measures shall also be applied:
