About Us
The Founding President & Director of STAR KIDS DLC is Mr. Emilio L. Tacata, Jr. He has finished his Bachelor’s Degree in Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, where he is awarded the Student Teacher of the Year. He began his teaching career right after graduation at O.B. Montessori (Greenhills) where Ms. Lea Salonga became his student in History in the high school level, and later Rep. Lord Allan Velasco at OLG Montessori (Commonwealth). He taught many other famous personalities. Consequently, he pursued his post graduate courses and completed his Masteral units in Educational Administration (1993), as well as Basic Education (1996), both at the Ateneo de Manila University.
In 1993, he was invited to teach at Srikandi International School in Jakarta, Indonesia. He also worked at Inter-Asia’s Independent Study High School, a satellite program of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. At age 32, he became the Elementary Principal at Makati Gospel Learning Center (Chinese school) and later designated Principal at GCF International Christian School (an exclusive school both for local and foreign students in Ortigas). Eventually, he decided to put up STAR KIDS DLC that initially offered Preschool Program in 1999. It is one of the first learning institutions in the country which adapted the principles of Multiple Intelligence framework since its first year of operation.
Mr. Tacata is one of the delegates to the 1st Philippine Multiple Intelligence Convention held in 2005, with Dr. Howard Gardner himself, (proponent of MI theory, Harvard University) as the Plenary Speaker. Recently in May 2009, he graduated from CCF Global Leadership Center, level 2 certificate. In the corporate world, Mr. Tacata has conducted various training seminars on Measurement and Evaluation, particularly at the Training Department of Pfizer Phils., Export Bank, along with other institutions. At present, Mr. Tacata works hard to deliver a highly competitive learning center in various parts of the country.
